Established as the sister company of two reputable medical institutions, namely, Medstar Internal Medicine Specialty Clinic operating in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and Grace Medical Center (GMC) based in Luanda, Angola, Medstar General Trading PLC stands on a strong foundation of clinical excellence and real-world healthcare experience.
Medstar General Trading PLC was founded by Dr. Dawit Amare, a seasoned specialist physician with over 15 years of distinguished experience as a clinician, academician, and healthcare leader in both public and private institutions, and Mrs. Maereg Gebregziabher, a legal professional with international experience, including engagements with institutions such as the Harvard Kennedy School and USAID.
Closely observing the medical sector in Ethiopia, the founders saw a growing need for reliable and timely access to safe and effective pharmaceutical and medical products. They acknowledged the challenges healthcare providers face in sourcing authentic, GMP-certified medical products and medical equipment.
Out of that insight, Medstar was born: a company built to make quality healthcare supplies accessible, compliant, and affordable for all.
